Senior, Bennett Schmitt has been awarded the Lilly Endowment Scholarship.

The Lilly Endowment Scholarship has been around since 1998, helping successful high school students further their education. However, a Jasper High School student had not claimed this prestigious scholarship in eight years. This all changed Tuesday morning, when senior, Bennett Schmitt, was surprised by the Jasper High School Staff with the Lilly Scholarship. Bennett Schmitt is a true asset to JHS and the Jasper community. Bennett plays two, varsity sports, while maintaining a 4.6 GPA, and is an active member in over 5 clubs. His academic achievements are numerous, but some include being President of The National Honors Society, Vice President of Student Council, a Wydlife leader, and a National Merit Semi-Finalist. Bennett also volunteers as a tutor and juggles two part-time jobs in the summer. JHS is very fortunate and proud to have such an outstanding student. We wish Bennett the best next year as he continues to pursue a double major in Chemistry and Spanish.
